What is Command Line Interface? (CLI)

Command line interface is a different way of operating a computer or digital device.

While most computer users prefer using a mouse, and having a more visual file/folder system. Using commands allows a user to be more efficient at times. And unlocks features that wouldn’t be accessible with the visual interface.

Command line interface goes one step further than using keyboard shortcuts. You can instruct very specific things. Like create a new file in a certain directory, or make changes to the operating system that simply aren’t available otherwise. Many complex features in computers are more better with a CLI.

Linux operating system is an OS that runs primary with a CLI.

While with Windows, and Mac, you have to begin the application that allows you provide commands to the machine.
